A new client contacted us several months ago who was in need of a brand new dream home for their family. They wanted a forever home, and that’s what we are creating for them. This dedicated couple has been an important catalyst in the reinvention of Knightdale, NC’s historic downtown area, and they were looking to plant roots in their revitalized, growing community. Located just off of Knightdale’s Main Street, this family’s new home will be walking distance from the expansive Knightdale Station Park, their community church, and numerous other venues for entertainment and fellowship. Their list of wants and needs began with a 2,800 square foot, 4-bedroom home with plenty of space to entertain guests and gather as a family. A historic feel with a contemporary twist was our theme for the home’s overall aesthetic.
As our design discussion continued, we included a wrap-around porch and screened area for the enjoyment of their future wooded 1-acre lot. Ample parking for their young drivers was another must-have on the outside of the home. Inside, we have designed an open floor plan with a first-floor master suite. A dining room with built-in glass display cabinets meet guests as they enter into the foyer. A convenient butler’s pantry connects the dining room to the large kitchen, allowing for the discreet storage of small appliances and serving ware. Ample prep space and storage will be found in the kitchen, and connected to this gathering space will be the family room, complete with a large stone fireplace and a wall of built-in book shelves. Upstairs, the children’s rooms and recreation space will allow plenty of room for relaxing, completing homework, and hanging out with friends. Construction has begun, and we can’t wait to see how our new “baby” comes along. Pictures to come soon!
