This cozy ranch lies on a sprawling and serenely shaded corner lot yard. But with it’s mailing address on one street and the front door on the other, the house seemed to be suffering from an identity crisis. The active, vibrant family who lives here wanted a change: A more modern appearance with a form that draws one approaching from the main street to move around the corner and come into the new front entry (address street). The clients wanted to remain in their beloved home which comes with great neighbors, a strong school district, and proximity to everyday amenities. Without increasing the footprint of the home in order to keep the budget manageable, we knew had a good plan for the owners. One of our main priorities was to give them more casual open living space where they could gather and entertain family and friends. A family room with a view will be the hot spot for entertaining and relaxing. Under-utilized spaces, such as the isolated, formal living room, are being transformed into functional and comfortable rooms: A true master suite with a closet to die for has been carved out of the previous living room space. Construction is well underway and we hope to be completed by sometime in October.
