523 Bloodworth Update

Another project that we have been really excited about during our busy year here at Pell Street Studio is nearing completion. This 1905 Oakwood bungalow is centered on a grand foyer which extends the full length of the home. Typical to this era, the home’s two original bedrooms are located to the left of the foyer, and the formal parlor and living rooms are seated to the right. Each of the four original rooms of this home has a coal burning fireplace, which we wanted to preserve and showcase. The work we completed in collaboration with M.A. Allen Interiors was primarily relegated to the later additions that were added to the rear of the historic structure. These additions included a kitchen, dinette area, a bathroom, laundry area, and a small bedroom. We reconfigured these spaces to include an expansion of the existing kitchen and to create an open dining room with access to the large back yard. Guests are now able to view the dining room and double French doors from the front of the entry hall. Finally, a master bathroom and master closet have been added that allows for the house to have a formal master suite.
