322 W Queen St Almost Complete!

This house in historic downtown Hillsborough will take your breath away when it is complete. It’s almost there! Cabinets, lighting, new flooring, wainscoting, appliances, plumbing fixtures are all in – just a few more details left to go (painting). This beautiful house is now a whole. From front to back, the house feels like it is all one house and a consistent aesthetic has been carried through. When we first met this house – it had a split personality. Stately and grand at the front while small and rustic in the back. With several months of therapy, this house is as grand as it was intended to be.

Candlelight Tour – A Success!

The Candlelight Tour this year brought over 2,000 guests through the house at 315 Pell St. Trees were lit and decorated, the smell of apple cider was in the air and a light sound of Holiday cheer emanated throughout the recently renovated house. If you missed the Tour this year mark your calendars now for Dec 13th + 14th, 2014. Photos of 315 Pell before the masses descended on it are below, taken from my iphone.

More Posts and Project Pages to Come/Welcome to Stephanie Clinton!

We have so many great projects under construction and in the design phases right now, but our busy bees are working over time to make sure our clients and the projects we have currently are given the attention that they need and deserve – so bare with us and check back often! We will be posting new projects and updates on construction photos soon!

On the same note – Welcome Stephanie Clinton to Pell St Studio! Stephanie just graduated from NCSU’s Master of Architecture Program in May. We are so excited to have her and she will be a great addition to the team.

308 Pell Street is finished and the owners are in !!!

After six months of construction the home owners are enjoying their new space.  The nine hundred square foot historic bungalow has been transformed from a tight compartmentalized floor plan to an open more contemporary space.  With the addition of a master suite and screen porch the house is now approximately thirteen hundred square feet.  Take a look at the photos below(these were taken before move in).

More Construction Images for 308 Pell

The previous images were taken with an iphone while onsite, this morning I brought the nikon in and took more photos of all the progress. Check out the kitchen back splash and the beautiful shower in the master suite. The openness of the public spaces can be seen throughout the photos.

308 Pell Preparing for the Final Few Weeks of Construction

Interior paint colors are up. Counter tops are in. The spaces are really starting to take shape! We are all awaiting the kitchen backsplash to be installed. The tile is a tiny see through glass mosaic with a gray/blue color. Plumbing fixtures will then be installed and all hardwood floors will be sanded and stained. Roll in the appliances and one final cleaning. Owners to move back in the first week of July and Pell St rejoices yet again on another home revitalized.

315 Pell Complete

Next Saturday will be the official unveiling of 315 Pell to all the owners’ friends, family, neighbors and coworkers. Anticipation is high and final touches are being added. Paintings are being hung, books are filling shelves, new furniture has been unpacked, sheets and pillows fluffed, and the new sound system through out the house has been fully vetted. It’s time for this house to shine.
